Contact List Enrichment

Contact List Enrichment lets you upload a list of people to Goodfit and enrich it with up-to-date contact, employment and company information.

It's useful when you already have a list of people from another source — such as webinar attendees, event registrations, inbound leads, LinkedIn connections or campaign lists — and want to understand who they are, where they work and whether their companies fit your target market.

Once contacts have been enriched, they become part of your Goodfit dataset and can be exported or synced to your CRM alongside their associated companies.

What Contact List Enrichment adds

For each person Goodfit can match, we can add:

  • Current employment status

  • Job title

  • Company

  • LinkedIn profile

  • Work email address

  • Phone number, when requested and available

  • Company information and your existing Goodfit account data

Goodfit maintains the relationship between each contact and the company they work for. If their company isn't already in your Goodfit dataset, it can be added automatically as part of the enrichment process.

Preparing your CSV

Start with a CSV containing the contacts you want to enrich.

Every row must contain at least one of:

  • Work email address

  • LinkedIn URL

  • First name, last name and company (company name or domain)

A job title is optional, but it helps Goodfit pick the right person when several people at a company share a name. When a row has a LinkedIn URL or work email, Goodfit uses those first.

Your CSV doesn't need to follow a particular format. When you upload it, you'll tell Goodfit what each column represents. Providing more information can improve matching accuracy.

Goodfit treats a contact as a person's employment at a particular company. This means we need to identify both the person and the company they work for, rather than simply identifying the individual.

Uploading your list

  1. Open Contact List Enrichment in Goodfit.

  2. Select New enrichment and upload your CSV.

  3. Match the columns in your file to the corresponding Goodfit fields. Goodfit will automatically identify many columns.

  4. Choose whether you also want to find phone numbers.

  5. Review the estimated usage before starting the enrichment.

  6. Start the enrichment.

Your enrichments will appear as in progress while Goodfit processes them. Small lists typically take a few minutes, while larger lists may take longer.

A single CSV can contain up to 50,000 rows.

Reviewing your results

Once processing has finished, you can open the enrichment to see your original rows alongside the information Goodfit found.

Results remain in the same order as your input file, making it easier to compare the enriched data with your original list.

Each row will have a status:

  • In dataset — the contact was already present in your Goodfit dataset.

  • Added to dataset — Goodfit successfully identified and added the contact.

  • Needs attention — Goodfit found a possible match but needs you to resolve something before adding the contact.

  • Not found — Goodfit couldn't confidently identify the person from the information provided. Hover over the status to see why, for example no one with that name at that company, or a company domain Goodfit doesn't recognise.

  • Multi-employer — Goodfit identified the person, but they have more than one active employment and there isn't enough information in your file to determine which one you intended.

  • Several people — more than one person at that company has the name in your file, so you pick the one you meant.

Goodfit deliberately stops short of guessing when a match is ambiguous.

For example, you may be asked to choose between several people with the same name at a company, or to select the correct employment for someone who currently works for multiple companies. Rows that need attention don't use credits until you resolve them.

Contacts identified from a name and company are marked Matched by name, so you can check they're the person you meant.

You can resolve these directly in the enrichment by selecting the correct match and confirming it. You can also dismiss contacts you don't want to add.

Former employees

If you're enriching an older list, Goodfit may identify someone who no longer works at the company specified.

The contact can still be enriched and added to your dataset, but their employment is marked as a former employment so you know they have moved on before contacting them.

Successfully enriched former employments use credits in the same way as other enriched contacts.

Matching coverage

Contact List Enrichment relies on matching people to public LinkedIn profiles.

Goodfit can currently match against approximately 90% of active LinkedIn profiles. As a result, some people may not be found even when the information in your input file is correct.

Providing additional identifying information generally gives Goodfit a stronger basis for finding the correct person and employment.

After enrichment

The Added to dataset view shows the contacts added through the enrichment and their associated companies.

If a contact's company wasn't already present, Goodfit can also add the company so the correct account-to-contact relationship is maintained.

From here, you can:

  • Export the enriched results to CSV, including how each contact was matched

  • Trigger a CRM sync to push the new companies and contacts to your CRM immediately

  • Wait for your next scheduled sync, when the records will be synced automatically

Companies and contacts are synced using your existing Goodfit CRM configuration.

Usage and credits

There is no separate charge for Contact List Enrichment. It uses the credits and limits already included in your Goodfit package.

Before starting an enrichment, Goodfit shows an estimate of its potential usage.

  • Contact credits: A contact credit is used when a successfully identified contact is added to your dataset, whether or not a work email address is found.

  • Email search: Goodfit searches across multiple data providers to maximise email coverage as part of the contact enrichment process.

  • Phone credits: Phone enrichment is optional. A phone credit is only used when a phone number is successfully found.

  • Account limits: New companies added through Contact List Enrichment count towards your existing account limit.

Contacts already present in your dataset aren't added again.
