Market Explorer

What is it?

Market Explorer allows you to define, refine, and expand your market in a self-serve way, without needing ongoing manual updates. This allows you to keep your dataset aligned with how you think about your market today, not how it was defined in the past.

You can also use Market Explorer to explore entirely new markets, understand their size, and assess whether they are worth pursuing.

With Market Explorer, you can:

  • Expand your current market by identifying additional relevant companies

  • Explore entirely new markets based on different assumptions

  • Research potential markets to understand scale and opportunity

  • Refine your ideal customer profile as your strategy evolves

Market Explorer is designed to make it clear how your dataset is built, giving you confidence in both the inputs and the outputs.

Why is it useful?

Market Explorer helps you maintain a high quality, strategically aligned dataset by putting you in control of market definition. Instead of relying on static assumptions, you can test, refine, and validate your view of the market as your business changes.

By using Market Explorer, you can:

  • Adjust your market definition

  • Understand exactly which signals and filters shape your dataset

  • Experiment with new target markets safely before committing to them

  • Preview companies before they are included

How it works

You can access Market Explorer from the main navigation. From there, you can create or update a market by configuring a set of data points that define which companies should be included.

Each data point allows you to define clear criteria. For example, if you want to focus on companies that already have a Chief Revenue Officer in place, you can configure the Team data to include only companies where that role exists today. This helps you narrow your market to organisations that match a specific structural or behavioural requirement.

Some data points include a deep preview, such as team, hiring, and software reviews. These previews let you explore detailed information for individual companies so you can validate your assumptions before making changes.

Once you are happy with your new market definition, you can preview the impact before publishing. This includes seeing how many net new companies will be added to your dataset, as well as browsing a sample of those companies to validate the results.

If the update looks right, you can request to publish your changes. After approval, your updated market will be reflected across your dataset, and you will be able to see which market each company belongs to directly in the Companies view.
