# Enrichment API

The Enrichment API adds companies and people you already know about to your Goodfit dataset, enriched with the same data as the rest of it.

It covers two kinds of enrichment:

| Enrichment | You submit                   | Goodfit returns                                                                                      |
| ---------- | ---------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Companies  | A domain or email address    | The company, enriched and added to your dataset                                                      |
| Contacts   | A LinkedIn URL or work email | The person at their company, with a work email and optionally a mobile number, added to your dataset |

Both work the same way: submit a request, store the returned `requestId`, and check its status until processing finishes. Both can sync the result to your CRM where a supported connector is enabled.
